History of the Church
To the glory of God, the Church was founded in 4th September, 2005 as an Anglican Worship Centre with less than ten families meeting at Dr.Shidali's Residence serving as the temporary site. This is in obedience to the Great Commission to reach out to the Rahwol Kanang Community, a neighbourhood of Bukuru with the undiluted message of the gospel. The Church also positions itself to overcome the challenges that Anglican students of Theological College of Northern Nigeria (TCNN) and other Anglican members residing in Rahwol Kanang face in attending services in Bukuru Township. The first service was conducted by Rev'd Can. Gabriel Sedemogun who was then Vicar of Christ Anglican Church, Bukuru and oversees the activities of the Worship Centre. The Worship Centre has since then been administered by various church workers and ordained Priests. In September, 2010 the Worship Centre moved to its permanent site and was named Pentecost Anglican Church by the Anglican Bishop of Bukuru Rt. Rev. JBN Zhumbes in September, 2014. The Church continues to enjoy the presence of seasoned Ministers of God that comes from various Anglican Dioceses of Nigeria to study in TCNN.
