Church of Nigeria 2020 Bible Study Outline
This year 2020, considering the fact that involvement in political leadership with the focus of bringing godliness to bear is itself engagement in spiritual warfare, we have chosen as theme for this year: “IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST”.
The Bible Study this year is intended to expound the significance of the name of Jesus Christ, both in our salvation and our mission in the world. It is what Jesus accomplished and what the Church is empowered to accomplish through the power of His name that has made Christianity the unique faith. While on earth, His disciples experienced the power of His name, when the seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name." (Luke 10:17). Jesus Himself said He protected them by the power of His own name (John 17:11-12). That name is the same yesterday, today and for ever (Hebrews 13:8).
Book of Common Pray
Jesus did not only pray for the physical unity of the Church but also for its spiritual unity, and this, it may be said, is promoted and sustained in the sacramental life of the Church. The Liturgy is therefore a means of grace that is appropriate in the search by the Church for unity that is both visible and Spiritual.

THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA HYMNAL
All through the ages, God has delighted continually in the worship and praise of the angelic hosts and the Church on earth. The Church of Nigeria Hymnal is to serve as a hymnal companion to the Book of Common Prayer. The compilation contains some of the those good old hymns most of which are fast passing into oblivion, but are still relevant to our daily life in our spiritual pilgrimage. It also contains many songs composed within the last fifty years. These are contemporary songs which touch on our spiritual, political and socio-economic life.
